The only thing that stays the same is change. The key is dealing effectively with it.
Change is here to stay. Resisting change does more harm than good. Fighting change is a losing battle.
Change is constant in business, in politics, in family and in life. You can’t escape it so you might as well learn to adapt to it. We change jobs, we change houses—we change physically, mentally and emotional each day!
Consider some tools you can use to deal with change.
1. See change as opportunity.
Be open minded. If you look back on the past you’ll see that change turned out to be a good thing. Napoleon Hill wrote, “Every adversity carries with it the see of an equivalent or greater benefit.” So, look for the silver lining. If it’s not immediately apparent, keep looking. If you still can’t find the opportunity, get busy and make your own.
2. Keep your sense of humor.
Medical research shows humor is good therapy. Laughter is the best medicine. It helps keep things in perspective since changes usually offers plenty of reasons to get upset, worried and puzzled.
3. Anticipate changes.
One of the keys to being successful in your efforts is to anticipate. Consider what’s coming, what needs to happen and, how you can prepare yourself for it. Instead of changing with the times, make it a habit of changing just a little ahead of the times.
You can practice these tools to effectively deal with change.
Best of success to you!
